What's New and Improved for the Spring 2009 Sales Event?

2nd Drop off on SUNDAY NIGHT:

The 2nd Drop off will be on Sunday evening, August 23 from 7:30-9:30pm.  We will open with new merchandise on Monday, August 24th.

ID Required at Pick-Up

We will now require consignors who are picking up their unsold merchandise to bring their ID to pick up.  If someone other than the original consignor will be picking up the unsold merchandise, it must be noted on the waiver.

New Shoe Guidelines

There is not a limit for the number of shoes that each consignor can bring to the Tulsa Spring event.  However, each pair of shoes will go through a strict inspection.  We will be very picky in our acceptance of shoes.  Consignors will not place shoes on the floor.  Volunteers will place shoes on the floor after drop off ends.

Consignors will take shoes to the shoe inspection table, where volunteers will be looking for the following guidelines.  Remember, they must look new. Click Here for the specific shoe guidelines.

No Bagged Clothing:

We are unable to accept clothing items in bags.  This includes, sleepers, onesies and pajamas.

New Sale Schedule:
Our public shopping schedule will be Sunday, August 23 through Saturday, August 29th. So, instead of the half price sale happening in 6 hours on a Sunday, it will now take place for 10 hours on Saturday, August 29th. Be sure to let everyone know that if they want to shop half price, Saturday is now the day!

NEW Pick up Time:
Weekend Pickup! Pick up of unsold items will be Sunday, August 30th from 5:00-8:00pm.

No Strollers or Wagons at Presales:
We are now, unable to accomodate strollers and wagons at the volunteer or consignor presales. You may bring a laundry basket to shop with. We have a limited amount of large handled bags that you may borrow while shopping. Strollers will be permitted during the Consignor Shop with Kids Presale, Doodlebug Mom Presale as well as the First Time Mom Presale when there is more room.

How to earn 70%
Want to earn 70% of your sales? It’s easy! Simply volunteer five (5) hours or more of your time to the JBF Sale. Not only will you receive the 70% split, but you also get to shop early. That’s two incentives for one volunteer! Click here for volunteer information. Could it get any better???
Another way to earn 70%? Simply refer three (3) new consignors to Just Between Friends. When they consign and use you as a referral, you will earn a full 70% on your items!

New Security Measure:
Please report any suspicious behavior at our event to JBF staff or our police officer on duty.
Thanks to the watchful eyes of our Consignors, shoppers & volunteers we were able to catch a shoplifter during our last sale. We know that most people are honest and this is not common at a JBF sale, but if you see anyone switching tags, shoplifting or anything else that looks “shady” please let us know. This is your merchandise, your money. We do everything we can to prevent theft, but our eyes can’t be everywhere at once, so we appreciate your help in protecting the JBF items that you worked so hard to prepare. Think twice…”JBF Crime Stoppers” are on patrol.

Tagging Security Measure:
In an effort to prevent switching tags at our events, we have found it helpful for you to place clear packing tape over the safety pin on clothing items. It makes is more difficult to remove the tag from the item. Please do not place tape over the actual bar-code as this makes the scan unreadable.

Sorry, No Home Decor
We will be unable to accept any Home Decor Item that is not child specific. (this includes items like rugs, lamps, figurines, frames, hanging art, etc.)

Sign Your Waiver:
Click here to download your consignor waiver. Sign it and bring it with you to save time at Check in.

Vip Tagging:
Have your items tagged for you by one of our volunteers. Make 50% profit instead of the normal 65%/70% and let someone else do the work for you. Items will need to be delivered to volunteer's home prior to the event. Limited space available. You must supply hangers, safety pins, and white card stock. Items must be free of stains and all toys must have all parts together and batteries included. Contact Tina at tloring@cox.net to reserve your space for VIP tagging and get other information concerning VIP tagging.

Limiting Consignors for the Fall 2009 Tulsa Event:
In an attempt to manage the sale correctly, we have felt the need to limit consignors for our events. Be sure to let others know to sign up early. Since we are limiting consignors, we ask that you only sign up if you are certain that you will participate. We have other options available now, with the addition of events in Owasso, Broken Arrow and Muskogee.  Sorry, consignor signups have ended for the Fall Tulsa event!

Hangers:
Our first preference for hangers are the child-sized wire hangers. Click here for hanger supplier information.
However,we have made the decision to allow the tubular child sized hangers instead of just allowing the wire hangers. Please do not use the plastic hangers that are easily broken. We prefer wire, then tubular.

Children at Presales:
We have made the decision to allow a short one hour time slot for those consignors who NEED to bring their children to the presale. Children can shop with their parents (who have the appropriate presale pass) at 6:00 pm on Saturday, August 22. Children must stay with their parent at all times. First time moms will shop at 7:00 pm and it can get very crowded. It would be best to have "shopping with kids" completed by that time.

Children:
JBF has made the decision to allow children 12 years old and above to attend the presale with their parent (consignor) as the "Guest" with the appropriate presale pass. Children below 12 years of age are welcomed to attend the special family night presale mentioned above, or when the JBF event is open to the public. Although non-walking infants are welcome to attend (no strollers or wagons), we still strongly urge you to find someone to watch your precious child as your shopping experience will greatly improve without the added responsibility.

Shopping Bags Needed:
Consider helping us make our sale the best of it's kind by supplying our shoppers with recycled large shopping bags. They love the ones from Target, Reasor's, and the Mall bags. We are mainly looking for larger bags than the Walmart ones. It is helpful for a mom with kids in tow to have only a few large bags than a lot of little bags. Bring them with you during drop off or your shop early time.

Volunteer time slots:
As our sale grows in size and merchandise we have the ever-increasing demand for volunteers, not only during sale times, but breakdown as well. Our volunteer schedule is now posted and Time slots for 12, 7 and 5 hour volunteers/workers are in high demand. Signups for these times will begin on January 1. Please consider joining our wonderful volunteers and help make this event run better than ever! Don't forget, volunteers get to shop early on August 22. Check the presale page for more information.

Limited Availability for 5 Volunteers!
We have a waiting list for any volunteers who can fit in 24 hours of time for Just Between Friends.
You must be a hard-working, self-motivated go-getter with a great attitude! These spots are not for the faint of heart. We expect a lot from the 24 hour volunteer staff and will give you the opportunity to shop Friday night August 21st . These spots will be filled on a First Come First Served basis and will be done by phone only, you may call Daven at 918-902.7489 to secure your position. Thanks to those of you who are even considering this! You will be expected to work on Saturday, August 22, Sunday, August 23 and at Breakdown. Good Luck!

Car Seat Guidelines:
If you are planning on consigning a car seat, please be aware that we will be very strict on our acceptance of each car seat. Only car seats that have had one owner will be accepted. You will also be asked to sign a waiver of condition. Remember, no car seats over 5 years old, or in poor condition. Click Here to sign the car-seat waiver prior to drop off to save time and to make sure that your car-seat is acceptable.

STRICT INSPECTION of Maternity Clothing Guidelines:
We will be limiting maternity clothing to 15 items(age appropriate/season appropriate) per consignor. Please bring only your best.

Referral Cards:
Our graphic artist has created a very cute referral card. These are for anyone who wants to let others know about JBF, but doesn't have time to sit down and explain the JBF concept to each person. Simply print off these referral cards (color and black and white available) on card stock and hand out. Not only will you be helping us market JBF, but you will get a bonus as well. On the referral cards, there is a place for you to write your name and consignor number, if 3 people sign up to consign and refer you by name, you will receive 70% on your items. Click here to see about other incentives are listed on our Sales incentives page. Help us grow!

No children's clothing over 5 years old, no maternity clothing over 3 years old:

We know that some early 80's styles are coming back, but please pay careful attention to what you bring. Even when styles do re-appear 20 years later, there is typically a variation on the idea. Again, we try to keep a reputation of being the best! Please help us attain that goal!

Multi-Piece Item Tagging Instructions:
For non-hanging items with multiple separate pieces, put a tag on EACH piece. Fill out the first tag as normal but include " 1 of X", where X is the number of pieces. On all of the other tags, write your consignor number, the description, and "2 of X", "3 of X" etc. DO NOT write the price on any tag except the first! Only use multiple tags for separate pieces; do NOT use multiple tags for items that are attached together, such as a 3-piece hanging outfit.

Formal Wear:
Formal wear for children is accepted.

Items missing tags:
We will not sell items that are missing tags.

Tape inside the collar:
If you would like to make an extra effort to ensure the selling of your items if they are lost, we suggest putting masking tape with your consignor number on the inside collar/or waistband of your clothing item. This is optional.
